Reordering in one tap

A customer's most likely next order is one they have already placed. The new version acts on that: your last 3 orders sit at the top of the home screen, same restaurant, same dishes, same notes. One tap and it is on its way.

Why 3 and not 10

A long list forces a choice, and choosing takes as long as rebuilding the order by hand. Three entries fit without scrolling and cover the large majority of cases.

Suggestions that know what time it is

Recommendations are no longer a list of popular restaurants. They change with the hour, with what is open right now, and with what you have ordered in this neighbourhood before. A closed restaurant no longer appears in suggestions, which sounds obvious and was not.

A rebuilt checkout

Checkout was the screen where most orders were lost. Three changes:

  • the mobile money operator you used last time is preselected,
  • the total sits at the top of the screen, not at the bottom after scrolling,
  • an order interrupted mid-payment is waiting exactly as it was when you come back, basket included.

The third mattered most. A network dropping during payment is not a rare event, and an order lost at that moment is one the customer does not start again.

What comes next

Scheduled orders and group orders already exist in the app. They deserve better than their current place in the menu, and that is the next piece of work.
